Today, the Municipality of Yarmouth announced it is investing $1 million to make significant upgrades to 62 Rcom Drive, home to Millennium One Solutions, in the Hebron Business Park. This project is extremely important to the economic prosperity of our community and will be a large provider of jobs for the area.

“This development has not only brought a new company to the local area, but with it the possibility for hundreds of well-paid positions for our community. We are very excited to have partners on this project who care about and are dedicated to retaining the employment in our local community” stated CAO Victoria Brooks.

Earlier this week, the Government of Canada also announced a non-repayable contribution of $1 million through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s (ACOA) Innovative Communities Fund.

“Our government is investing in coastal, rural communities now so they can build back better after the pandemic,” says the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard and Member of Parliament for South Shore-St. Margarets. “I’m thrilled that this coordinated action will create good, meaningful jobs for the hardworking people of Yarmouth. I look forward to seeing the finished centre and seeing our communities across Nova Scotia emerge even stronger in our post-pandemic future.”

Millennium 1 Solutions - a Canadian firm with 40 years of experience providing customer support and services to the financial, loyalty, insurance, government, retail and health sciences sectors - moved into the space in late 2020 and is currently recruiting approximately 100 employees, with up to 300 more jobs forecast.

“We want to thank our partners from ACOA and all levels of government for their unwavering support on this project, to our community, and the people whose lives this announcement will benefit. Retaining employment in this the region has always been a top priority for me and we are very happy that Millennium 1 Solutions is looking at hiring for many positions,” stated John Cunningham, Warden for the Municipality of Yarmouth.

Work to complete renovations at 62 Rcom Drive has begun and good progress is being made. The work is expected to be complete later this winter.
